Des Plaines artist Steven Gerard Wagner has three oil paintings featured in "Reflecting Terre Haute", an exhibit at the Swope Museum in Terre Haute, IN.
The exhibit marks the 70th anniversary of the Swope Museum and is sponsored in part by National Endowment for the Arts, the Indiana Arts Commission and the American Association of Museums.
Wagner is a participant of the Des Plaines Art Guild. He is a long-term artisan concentrating his creativeness on oil painting, etching/traditional cooperplate publishing, silverpoint creating and building. He is a grad student of the School of Il and the Protection Terminology Institution. An Military expert, he provided offshore in Turkey.
Age Petrulis, curator of the Swope Art Art gallery, chosen his painting."It's an essential exhibit enjoying by showing on the record of Terre Haute, thus the headline of the exhibit, 'Reflecting Terre Haute,'" Wagner said. "These particular paintings are about three times in Terre Haute record.
One was a horserace. A lady is found up in the streaming hair of the racehorse about to win what the old Terre Hautians known as the "Futurity" at the world-famous rectangle track in Terre Haute. The second is a wonderful time with the Terre Haute Madstone, which Abe Lincoln subsequently placed on his daughters attack from a significant dog. The third is a twice symbol, observing the the front of females into the army level. Perhaps one of the first WAACs was Ruth Betty Martin. She salutes the London visitor, Jesse Flanner, from Indy, who mentioned during the pitch-dark absolute depths of Community War II "when This particular language dropped, element of Terre Haute fell!"
Wagner explained: "These are actual testimonies informed to me by actual, stay Terre Haute individuals. I'm pertaining them, but it's the graphics, the manufactured perform itself that is the route, the route, so to talk."
